Big pharma would never make up numbers!

"It was clear from the Steering Committee's review of pooled data from recently completed cIMT studies of other medicines that the patient population being studied in ACHIEVE was no longer the correct population to test the primary study hypothesis of IMT progression," said John Kastelein, M.D. Ph.D., Chair, ACHIEVE Steering Committee.

So you end the trial and run another one that will give better numbers. Why make numbers up when you can keep trying new things until you get what you want.

A similiar situation, not an experiment, happened in New York in the 1960s, when a lady was brutally beaten to death over a period of hours during one night, and no one did a thing about it, even though at least 50 people viewed the incident.
